Project Details
Campus Animal Resources offers a paid externship for 1st or 2nd year veterinary students that have an interest in laboratory animal medicine. The externship will run for ~12 weeks. Extern will receive an overview of the field of laboratory animal medicine, with scheduled activities. The extern will attend research didactics with other MSU CVM veterinary students and participate in the veterinary scholars symposium. Extern will work on an independent research project, such as management or clinical refinements for laboratory animal science.
Summer extern will be exposed to the following areas of laboratory animal medicine: diagnostic and clinical services, didactic, husbandry, and hands on training with the various laboratory animal species on MSU campus
Extern will work under the direct supervision of the Campus Animal Resources Clinical Veterinarians.
